- Description
This course is being offered FREE by St John Ambulance. However, spaces are limited so please book in the usual way.
Everyone attending should book a place.
This introductory session will show you how to feel first-aid confident and how to respond when needed. It is ideal for those working and volunteering in community groups, schools, organisations and at events. It will also help you know how to react in a family or domestic situation.
You will learn practical life-saving skills and techniques such as CPR and treating severe bleeding. The St John Ambulance trainer will provide guidance on how to support someone until professional help arrives.
It includes:
Primary survey
Recovery position
CPR and how to use a defibrillator (AED) and
Severe bleeding.
Please note that this session does not gain you a designated First Aid at Work qualification. That is a longer course that we hope we may be able to offer in future.
