An introduction to the traditional craft of hedgelaying - a traditional way of restoring and reviving a hedge whilst creating a natural stockproof barrier. 

Learn how to inspect a length of hedge and decide how to start the hedgelaying. Learn what hand tools and safety clothing and equipment are required. Prepare the hedge by 'facing it off'. Start cutting the stems and laying the pleacher.

Learn how and where to use the stakes and the importance of 'notching', and how to fill gaps in the hedge by ' layering '.

Finally we look at finishing off and leaving the site safe and tidy.
